The CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) is the amount of fresh air cycled through your environment each minute. To find the CFM, follow this formula:

Formula for Evaporative Cooler Sizing

Room Length x Room Width x Ceiling Height = Cubic Footage

Cubic Feet / 2 = Cubic Feet Per Minute (CFM)

For example, if your room is 250 square feet(Room Height 25 foot, Room Width 10 foot) with 8-foot ceilings:
                     25 X 10 X 8 / 2 = 1000CFM

According to the equation, you would need a air cooler with a CFM of at least 1000.

Calculating CMH

The CMH(Cubic meters per hour) is the amount of fresh air cycled through your environment each hour. To find the CMH, follow this formula:

Room Length x Room Width x Ceiling Height = Cubic Meters

Cubic Meters x30 = Cubic Meter Per Hour (CMH)

For example, if your room is 20 square meters (Room Height 5 meters, Room Width 4 meters) with 2.4 meters ceilings:
                    5X4X2.4X30 = 1440 CMH

According to the equation, you would need a air cooler with a CMH of at least 1440.
